Nick Jonas makes his solo debut with his new track Chains

Nick Jonas is all set to move o to the next stage of his music career after leaving Jonas Brothers. On 24th July, Thursday, the youngest brother revealed a catchy preview of his upcoming solo album. His new single Chains premiered on Complex.

The single is distinctly dissimilar from the music of the Jonas Brothers, and also Nick Jonas’ music with the Administration - silky vocals and a decisive R&B aesthetic made one Billboard staff member compare the music to a Miguel track when Jonas stopped by the office of Billboard to play his new tune earlier this week. Nick declares: "Tryna break the chains, but the chains only break me."

Chains, produced by Jason Evigan, is the very first single from Nick’s upcoming album on the Island Records. It is also the very 1st music Nick has unveiled since their Jonas Brothers band denied a comeback tour. The band bid adieu last October.

The as-of-new-untitled album would not feature his backing band Administration, with whom he had earlier released an album called Who am I back in the year 2010. The album has sold more than 179000 units till date.

His new track describes how he felt when he was on this band – how he felt trapped. An insider told a newspaper that Chains is a metaphor for what he has been feeling all these years. For the first time in his life he is feeling free. He is now making making music he believes in.
